Autumn 2025 - newsletter

DaleLiverpool Newsletter – Autumn 2025

Hello again, friends,

We’re now we are out of September! The air’s getting cooler, I would normally say things are slowing down – but they’re not. I’ve been reflecting on what’s been a packed few months since the April newsletter. From tours and compering to new projects and plans for winter, so here’s the latest from me.

Firstly, on a personal note, it’s been an incredible few months - I went to LA to watch Oasis! An unfortunate encounter meant I would meet someone who would extend an offer of incredible hospitality to me. The ability to watch a band that mean so much to me, under the LA sky, under a full moon, with Paul McCartney and Leonardo DiCaprio in attendance is something I am forever grateful. I have no idea why I am blessed with these opportunities.

I had a lovely summer with my son, his last summer before he becomes a teenager. At the start of the summer I would play in a charity football game, in which, to my surprise (and everyone else’s) I scored! Jude wasn’t impressed, or at least he hid it well. Throughout the rest of summer, we hiked, camped, made memories together. At the end of this summer I have made the choice to stop coaching his team on my own, which was a huge step for me, but I am happy that it happened and the lovely messages I received from parents saying how much I had helped their children meant more to me than any professional achievement.

Beatleweek 2025

This year’s Beatleweek was another whirlwind. I had the privilege of compering every day of the festival, introducing 128 acts to the stages and keeping the energy flowing, my voice only just survived it. Hosting on those stages — surrounded by fans, musicians, and people who’ve travelled halfway across the world — is always special but this year was just the best. The standard of bands, the vibe and the fact that there were so many people of all ages, backgrounds from all around the world. Beatlemania is not slowing down, it’s only getting bigger and busier!

My Partners

The partnership with Liverpool FC has continued to grow, taking a new cohort of academy recruits on a tour recently around the waterfront and the lower end of the city centre. I’ve delivered tours now to at least 8 lads who’ve played for the first team, it was great in May waving at lads who I’ve taken on a tour while they were next to Mo Salah and Van Djik on the open top bus with the Premier League Trophy.

Liverpool FC aside, earlier in the summer, I would partner with McMorran Entertainment again and we designed and delivered what had to be one of my favourite projects to be involved with. We had a major corporate client who wanted a history and entertainment package. So, we had live music, immersive actors/dancers dressed in theme and me laying the history down for entertainment… I spoke about The Docks – we had actors in character among the guests and then Jonny our musician playing old sea shanties and Liverpool folk songs. It was incredible and the package itself will now be available for other corporates to book… It’s a perfect corporate or educational offer.

Compering for The Jacaranda

I recorded a fantastic podcast interview with Graham Stanley who runs The Jacaranda a few months ago, the response was great. I’ve been friends with the guys at The Jacaranda for quite some time, I am also a fan of the venue and the work they do in the city. But the day after Liverpool brought home the cup, I was working with The Jacaranda on what had to be the best compere role I’ve ever been given. 3000 people, over two shows in Grand Central with The Stereophonics. It was a questions and answers night, so I was on stage with them firing pre-picked audience questions. As a child of the 90’s – sharing a stage with Stereophonics was cool and one of the highlights of my year, they were incredible!

Tours

Aside from compering the world’s biggest Beatles Festival, sharing a stage with Stereophonics and tour guiding for Liverpool FC, I have continued with my very hectic and busy summer schedule of tours. It’s been a busy and successful summer with The Magical Mystery Tour – I made it to my 8-year mark as a tour guide without a single negative review. The MMT themselves have had a record-breaking summer, being part of the company for so long now, I’m proud of the team and what we’ve all achieved there.

I would continue building relationships (and strengthening what I already have) with the cruise market – delivering a huge number of tours for the cruise liners with 3 different types of tours delivered this summer for them: Coach, E-Bikes and Walking Tours. It’s been an incredible summer delivering these excursions and I look forward to next summer already!

Alongside Darren at Brewery Bus Tours/Liverpool Tour Experiences, we’ve had some good laughs this summer season with great groups getting on our Beatles&Beer Tour… This tour is genuinely a perfect team builder, corporate get away, stag/hen party idea. Whenever we get a booking, we know that we’re going to have a great time, and when me and Darren are enjoying ourselves its inevitable everyone else does too.

On a really positive note, I’ve had the pleasure of employing 6 other guides this summer and that is something I am incredibly proud of. I thank them for allowing me to put my trust in them and they didn’t let me down!

George Harrison’s Childhood Home

25 Upton Green remains one of the proudest things I have ever chosen to be involved with.

In October we will be hosting a special tour featuring a gig from my friends “Midnite Special” – this will be a very special afternoon and we will be keeping the numbers low, so it’s very exclusive. It’s the first time I will be selling tickets for George’s house on my website, so that is a very exciting moment.

However, it won’t be the last! I’m proud to tease in this newsletter – tours will likely become a regular feature for the house in the very near future. Again, this will be exclusive and not over saturated. So keeping an eye out for these tours and booking well and truly in advance will be essential.

What else is coming up:

Monday Night Walking Tours

As the nights draw in, I’ll be starting up a regular Monday evening walking tour through Liverpool city centre. It’s a chance to experience the city in a different light (literally), with the quieter streets meaning easier access to the pubs on route.

Men’s Walking Tour

If you are a man and you want to go on a tour, but maybe finances are hard or you’re not wanting to commit to buying a ticket, just drop me a message. As a man who has gone through the struggles of parenthood, divorce, business and life - I don’t want any men feeling alone. So just drop me a message on Instagram letting me know that you’ve read this and I will sort you out with a space on a walking tour and nobody has to know.

Podcast Episodes

The Liverpool Stories Podcast keeps rolling, with new guests lined up. I want to keep using the podcast to shine light on the stories that matter. In the next few weeks I will be interviewing a major figure in the history of The Beatles, in a legendary location.

From there, as tours quieten down for me and booking to stay in George’s house calm down a little - I will be bringing in guests to George Harrison’s house to sit down and interview. So make sure you continue to subscribe and engage with the podcast - exciting days ahead!

Thank You…

It’s been a season of growth and stretching myself, but it’s been another summer season of reminding myself of why I do what I do - It all comes back to connection: people, stories, and promoting this city that I call home, that I love.

None of this happens without your support — whether it’s joining a tour, listening to the podcast, meeting me in The Cavern, or simply following along on social media. I’m grateful for every message, booking, and bit of encouragement that comes my way, so thank you so much.

If you’re planning a trip to Liverpool this autumn or winter, now’s a good time to book. Maybe I’ll see you on one of my Monday night walking tours!
